Calcitonin inhibited the constitutive cleavage of a fluorogenic calpain substrate and transiently blocked the constitutive cleavage of filamin A, talin, and Pyk2 by a protein kinase C-dependent mechanism, demonstrating that calcitonin induces the inhibition of calpain in osteoclasts
