NF1 — RASA1

Pathways - manually collected, often from reviews:

  • OpenBEL Selventa BEL large corpus: RASA1 → NF1 (decreases)
Evidence: IMR90 and BJ fibroblasts were infected with a retrovirus that expresses the catalytic GAP-related domain (GRD) of neurofibromin. Expression of this domain has previously been shown to decrease Ras-GTP levels (Hiatt et al., 2001; Johannessen et al., 2005). Consistent with these findings, GRD expression resulted in a significant decrease in the activation of AKT and ERK (Figure 3D) and induced senescence in both IMR90 and BJ cells (Figure 3E)

Lee et al., Adv Exp Med Biol 1999 : Neurofibromin was readily inhibited by stearic and oleic acid, but p120 GAP was not inhibited even at high concentrations ( > 80 microM )
Tsai et al., J Neurosci 2012 (Synaptic Transmission) : In presynapses, NF1 acts via the cAMP pathway, but independent of its GAP activity, to restrain synaptic growth
